GHOSTBUSTERS star Leslie Jones says no one will dress her for the upcoming red carpet premiere of the movie.
Jones took to Twitter to lament the lack of offers from designers, perhaps in an effort to get their attention ahead of the event.
“It’s so funny how there are no designers wanting to help me with a premiere dress for movie,” Jones wrote. “Hmmm that will change and I remember everything.”
Her plea might have worked, with designer Christian Siriano replying to her tweet with a wave emoji.
With the global attention of red carpets and premieres you would think designers would be clamouring to get their gowns on film stars, but it seems it might be harder than it looks.
Jones’ Ghostbusters co-star Melissa McCarthy has also revealed in the past that after asking “five or six designers” for an Oscars gown and “they all said no.”
Octavia Spencer has also spoken about her difficulty in finding an Oscars gown.
“It’s very difficult to make a woman of different sizes look as chic, as sexy, without making them wear a tent,” Spencer said. “Normally, that’s what they give you. ‘Here is your designer dress, but it’s a tent.’ I’m sorry, I just refuse to do that. It’s not gonna happen, honey! I’m not going to wear a muumuu!”
