Hollywood awards season continues with the Critics Choice Awards taking place in Los Angeles today.

The red carpet has been rolled out at Santa Monica Airport’s Barker Hangar for the 30th annual celebration of film and TV, which is being hosted by Chelsea Handler for the third consecutive year.

On the awards front, Conclave and Wicked are frontrunners in film with a whopping 11 nods each, while sci-fi epic Dune: Part Two and drug cartel musical Emilia Perez trail behind with 10 apiece.

Disney+’s critically acclaimed Shōgun leads the pack in TV with six nominations.

But first, the red carpet.

A gentle reminder Best Actress favourite Demi Moore is indeed 62 years old.

We’re edging closer to the jewel in the award season crown, the Oscars, which are happening March 3.

Before that, we have the Screen Actors Guild Awards on February 24, and the BAFTAs on February 17.

After being nominated for Best Actress at the Golden Globes in January, Australian actress Nicole Kidman’s awards campaign swiftly went south, with the star missing out on an Oscars nod for her erotic thriller Babygirl.

Kidman is also not nominated for Best Actress at todays Critics Choice Awards (though she did get recognised for her TV series Lioness), or for the upcoming SAGs.

In some good news for Aussies, Guy Pearce received his first ever Oscars nod with a Best Supporting Actor nomination for The Brutalist.
