Jack Vidgen speaks about his fillers, veneers and Botox

Jack Vidgen stunned Australia with his new look on The Voice last year. Now, the singer’s revealed exactly what he’s had done.

Australian TV viewers were stunned by Jack Vidgen’s appearance when he competed on The Voice last year, roughly 10 years after he rose to fame on Australia’s Got Talent.

The singer was virtually unrecognisable compared to the shy 14-year-old who captured the hearts of a nation back in 2011.

After months of rumours about cosmetic procedures he’s had done, Vidgen, 23, last night opened up to news.com.au’s James Weir on the podcast Not Here To Make Friends.

Starting with Botox, Vidgen said: “I think I got it first when I was 19. I had these two creases in my forehead … I just tried it and they went away.”

He still gets Botox in his forehead nowadays, saying: “It’s just because I wear makeup, so the makeup doesn’t get in the (forehead) creases.”

On the Not Here To Make Friends podcast, Vidgen also revealed he first got veneers during his time on Australia’s Got Talent.

“Between the semi-final and the final (in 2011) I got a full set of veneers, and then when I came back everyone was like, ‘What the f**k?’” the entertainer said.

“It was just something I wanted to do and I could afford it all of a sudden and I was like, why not?”

Podcast host Weir, who writes the MAFS recaps for news.com.au, told Vidgen: “I really want to get veneers as well but I’ve made a career out of making fun of people who get veneers on reality shows, so I can’t.”

Vidgen joked in response, “I’ve made a career out of people making fun of me for having veneers!”

This isn’t the first time the Aussie singer has spoken about cosmetic procedures.

Last year he told Who magazine that he started dabbling with different procedures because he struggled with his identity during his teenage years.

“I’ve been trying to find myself again and I’ve definitely experimented with filler … there’s no denying that,” he said in reference to his lips.

“To me, lip filler is like make-up, it’s like doing your hair … it’s not permanent.”

After making it through to the semi-finals of The Voice last year, Vidgen returned to TV this year as a contender on America’s Got Talent: The Champions.

Vidgen also told Weir that he’d be willing to star on an Australian reality show, saying, “It would be amazing if there was a Real Gays of Sydney. I’d be keen to give it a go!”

Watch Not Here To Make Friends live every Sunday and Wednesday straight after MAFS, when James Weir is joined by guests live on Facebook and news.com.au, discussing the couples’ ups, downs, sideways, pimples, pashing and misjudged PDAs.

The podcast will be available on news.com.au, Spotify, Apple Podcasts and all the usual suspects straight after the live stream.
