Not Here To Make Friends: A podcast with James Weir
James Weir’s podcast Not Here to Make Friends gives fans of reality TV recaps and tabloid news a new way to indulge their secret obsession.
It’s 2020 and one of news.com.au’s most popular franchises returns.
James Weir is back recapping all your favourite reality TV programs and offering a brutal look at the news everyone is talking about. So what’s new? You can now listen to it all with the addition of a weekly podcast called Not Here To Make Friends.
Hosted by James, the show takes a no-holds-barred approach to the circus of reality TV and provides a lighter take on celebrity culture. Nothing is too small or petty for this show.
And now, with everyone stuck in isolation, James and his rotating panel of guests find the funny side of the torture that is life in lockdown.
A new podcast is recorded every Thursday afternoon and available from 4pm. It’s available on news.com.au, Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

James’s recaps of MAFS and The Bachelor have become a cult hit with Australian readers and last year he took the franchise to new events in the cultural zeitgeist such as the Logies, the Mexican wedding of embattled Nine host Karl Stefanovic and the messy downfall of MasterChef star George Calombaris.
James Weir joined news.com.au in 2014 and now works across digital and print with a successful weekly column in the Sunday Telegraph. He is also a regular co-host on The Kyle & Jackie O Show.
