Alex Williamson dropped from comedy festivals after denying abuse allegations in foul-mouthed Instagram rant

Alex Williamson has been dumped from the Sydney and Perth Comedy Festivals following a foul-mouthed rant denying allegations of abuse from his ex-girlfriend.

Aussie stand-up comic Alex Williamson has been dropped from the Perth and Sydney Comedy Festivals after a foul-mouthed rant in which he furiously denied allegations of physical abuse and “predatory behaviour” from his ex-girlfriend.

He has also been dropped from his management, More Talent, in light of the explosive response.

The 32-year-old’s ex-girlfriend, singer Peach PRC, shared a lengthy public statement on Tuesday claiming Williamson was “abusive, manipulative and predatory” throughout their relationship.

Williamson responded with several sexually-explicit comments about Peach which cannot be published here, claiming she “threw herself” at him when she was 19 and he was 29.

His expletive-filled rants prompted fierce backlash on social media, with many calling for him to be dumped from the comedy festival line-ups.

Both the Perth and Sydney instalments of the festival confirmed he has been dropped today, writing: “In light of recent events, The Comedy Festival has withdrawn Alex Williamson’s show from its program.”

Ticketholders will be refunded for shows due to take place this weekend in Perth, and later this month in Sydney.

On Thursday, Pedestrian TV reported Williamson’s management, More Talent, had terminated its working relationship with the performer effective immediately, with his profile removed from its website moments later.

In a leaked email provided to the publication, the company’s director Andrew Taylor called Williamson’s behaviour “completely inappropriate” and “unacceptable,” and that “we do not and cannot be seen to condone behaviour such as is alleged, nor the tone or content of his responses.”

On Tuesday, Peach alleged Williamson had done “absolutely vile things” to her and other women.

“I didn’t speak up loud enough last time and still carry so much guilt that it lead (sic) to someone else being hurt. And I won’t watch it happen again,” she wrote.

“I am not scared of you Alex. Your empty threats are pathetic and I won’t be silenced anymore.”

In response, Williamson posted several videos denying the allegations, claiming Peach was just jealous of his popularity on TikTok.

He went on to provide explicit details of their sex life during the relationship, telling a vivid story about a time they were both “very drunk” and couldn’t remember being intimate, which they later “joked about in a kinky way”.

He also told a story about a threesome which cannot be published here, Pedestrian TV reports.

Elsewhere, he referenced another ex-girlfriend, telling his over half a million followers: “I don’t know what the abuse is. I don’t know what the predatory behaviour is they’re talking about.

“Again, they both threw themselves at me. I’m confused as to where the predatory thing is coming from. What even is the accusation? … If it’s the predatory thing, it’s false. Also, I was 29 at the time. What’s the problem with trying to find a 19-year-old?”

He went on: “All you chicks here firing up, all your boyfriends, you think they’re looking at your old boot of a head? No, they’re looking at hot 19-year-olds.”

He later joked about Armie Hammer in light of a string of disturbing abuse allegations against the actor.

The comedian is no stranger to making headlines.

In October last year, Williamson was involved in a confrontation with a heckler during a show at Adelaide’s Rhino Room in which he said he was “glad” their parents were dead before kicking the man’s drink over.

“I’m glad they’re dead, so they didn’t get to see their son evolve into such a f***ing useless sack of sh*t,” he shouted. “Guess what, my comedy’s above your f***ing head, c**t.”

Williamson later admitted he wasn’t in a good place and took the incident too far, telling fans he was seeking professional help.

While he didn’t explicitly link the incident with his mental health issues he said he “underwent an episode”.

“Lots of things at play below the surface over the last two weeks as I underwent an episode,” Williamson said in a post on Instagram.

“Things you could only speculate on, without a proper understanding. I’m seeing a doctor tomorrow to give them a proper understanding.”
