Actress Sydney Sweeney marked her 26th birthday over the weekend with a prom-themed ‘80s party.
The Euphoria star decked out the venue of her big soiree with disco mirror balls and pink draped curtains, all while a white banner with pink text that read “Syd’s Prom” sparkled as the backdrop.
The birthday girl wore a bright pink minidress with puffy sleeves that looked straight out of an ‘80s teen movie. She also nailed the hairstyle of that era, wearing her blonde hair in teased, voluminous curls.
The themed-party was attended by Sweeney’s famous friends, including actress Nicola Peltz Beckham and Camila Mendes, and singer Anitta, who all shared photos from the event on Instagram.
“My first prom thanks to the bday girl @sydney_sweeney U deserve the best!!!” the Brazilian singer wrote while Peltz shared a photo of Sweeney with her multi-coloured three-layer cake along with the caption: “Happy birthday beauty! I love you so much!!”
Mendes had just as much fun as she shared on Instagram, “80s prom night was rad,” to which Sweeney replied with two pink hearts, “Love youuuuu :).”

The last time Sweeney threw a themed party it wasn’t as well received.
Back in August 2022, The White Lotus star copped backlash over photos from a family birthday celebration which appear to make a political statement.
The actress and her brother, Trent, had hosted their mum’s surprise birthday hoedown, but critics pointed out that the party resembled a gathering of Donald Trump supporters after the siblings were inspired by then-US president’s Make America Great Again (MAGA) signature cap.
At the party, guests were invited to wear similar red caps, but on it was the slogan: “Make Sixty Great Again.”
Sweeney didn’t waste time defending her event, tweeting at the time: “You guys this is wild. An innocent celebration for my mums milestone 60th birthday has turned into an absurd political statement, which was not the intention.”
“Please stop making assumptions. Much love to everyone and Happy Birthday Mum!”
