A rumoured peace meeting between the King, William and Harry has reportedly been axed with the royals “utterly betrayed” by the Sussexes.

Rumoured peace talks next month between King Charles, the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex are off the table with the monarch feeling “utterly betrayed” by Harry and William “utterly disgusted” by his brothers’ behaviour.

There had been furious chatter that the King and Prince William would meet Harry on September 17 with the Duke of Sussex stopping over in the UK between Germany and his US home.

“King Charles is due to return to London from Balmoral in the middle of September which ties with the end of Harry’s Invictus Games trip to Dusseldorf,” a royal source told OK! magazine in the UK.

“The King has a rescheduled official visit to France on September 20 so has a few days to spare in London to meet with his son. Staff are trying to finetune the details as we speak.”

However, it now seems hopes of a reconciliation between the warring royals is wide of the mark.

According to US website the Daily Beast, Charles and William are opposed to any such meet up.

“Charles won’t be seeing Harry and nor will William. No chance. He feels utterly betrayed by what Harry wrote about him in the book and said about him on Netflix,” a source close to the Price of Wales told the publication.

William ‘absolutely disgusted’

The source said Harry’s tell all tales had been William’s “worst nightmare”.

“It is a total violation of his privacy. On top of that, Harry has criticised Kate and the way he is bringing up his children.

“It’s very, very sad. I think it is completely understandable that right now William is still absolutely disgusted by what his brother has done.”

It’s been reported the King is more conciliatory towards Harry than William and has remained some contact with his son.

Yet, he remained deeply hurt by the Duke’s remarks about the royal family and doesn’t see a route back into the fold.

“The king loves both his sons and his door is always open to Harry. But I don’t think they will be meeting on September 17,” the source told the Daily Beast.

“The King will be preparing for the state visit to France.”

Reports in OK magazine had suggested that if a meeting were to occur Harry would have to commit to “absolutely no private family business discussed in public moving forward,” due to the fact the King had been “mortally wounded” by his son’s previous comments.

Charles was particularly perturbed by comments made in Harry’s memoir Spare where Queen Camilla was referenced as a “villain” and “dangerous”.

If no meeting takes place, it’s difficult to see how relations will be mended between the Sussex’s and the rest of the royals in the short term.

This month, Buckingham Place quietly stripped the Duke and Duchess of Sussex of the “Royal Highness” honorifics from the royal family’s website.

The couple’s names were also moved toward the bottom of the family’s main page — beneath working members of the Firm but right above disgraced Prince Andrew.

Prior to the update, Harry had been referred to as “HRH” twice.

The Sussex’s agreed to give up their royal privileges after they stepped down as senior members of the royal family in 2020.

The decision was followed by a move to Canada, before they ultimately settled down in star-studded Montecito, California, north of Los Angeles.
