Actress Asher Keddie has been one of the most recognisable faces in Aussie TV for decades, all while managing to keep her private life well away from the spotlight.
But in the November issue of Marie Claire, on sale now, the former Offspring star, 49, has offered fans a rare glimpse into her 11-year relationship with artist, Vincent Fantauzzo.
The couple first met in 2012, tying the knot two years later, with Keddie giving birth to their first child together, Valentino, in 2015.
Fantauzzo also has another son, Luca, 13, from a previous marriage.
Opening up about the day they met to Marie Claire, Keddie described how she was convinced by her agent to let Fantauzzo paint a portrait of her. She said that while photographing her during a preparation ession, he would pop his head above the camera to lock eyes with her.
“He still does that eyes above the camera; he’s very charming,” she told the publication.
“But what we enjoy most – and I know we both feel like this – is sharing the parenting. I love that feeling of togetherness we have in parenting them and being part of their lives.”
Keddie, who recently starred in Prime Video’s critically-acclaimed Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, also opened up about juggling her travel-heavy workload with family life, praising her husband for his support.
“Vincent manages really well and as long as the kids are safe and feeling good and well fed then I can relax and focus on my work,” she told Marie Claire.
“I take care of stuff when I come home and who cares if there’s five loads of washing to do? I have a gripe every now and then about everyone helping me a little more, but we have different roles within the house and as long as the kids come first, everything falls into place.”
Keddie will next appear in Strife, a new Binge* original series inspired by Mia Freedman’s memoir.
“The comedic drama series tells the story of a modern, imperfect woman and publisher named Evelyn Jones (Keddie) and her journey from lounge room blogger to becoming a force in women’s media,” Binge detailed in a press release earlier this year.
In April, Keddie shared a rare personal tribute to her husband in honour of their wedding anniversary.
The actress shared a series of throwback photos from their beach ceremony on Turtle Island in Fiji, which had just one guest – Fantauzzo’s son, Luca.
“Can’t believe how much we’ve done in 10 years … Happy anniversary love hearts … you’re everything to me, and our little Valentini,” Keddie captioned the Instagram post.
In one image, Keddie can be seen smiling and posing alongside her husband as he carried his son, while in another, the newlyweds embraced on the sand.
The November issue of Marie Claire is on sale now.
