There’s plenty of life left in Andrew Costello and his top-rating TV show South Aussie with Cosi.
The man affectionately known as ‘Cosi’ has re-signed with Channel 7 for a further three years, which will see the lifestyle and travel prgram on local screens until the end of 2027.
Costello said the “huge” contract extension will see the show complete at least 16 seasons on-air – a remarkable run for a local program.
“This is super big compliment, it’s a long deal by media standards. I feel very flattered that they think enough about the brand to keep us around for another three years,” he said.
South Aussie with Cosi, which showcases regional and city destinations and promotes South Australian businesses, launched in 2011 on Channel 9.
After more than a decade with Nine, Costello and the show switched networks to Seven in 2022.
The popular media personality said there’s no slowing down as they enter season 14, and they will continue to promote the best of the state.
“One of the most common questions I get asked is, ‘Are you running of places to showcase around South Australia?’. That couldn’t be further from the truth,” Costello said.
“There’s towns I’ve never filmed in... we’ll never get to the end of what there is to do in SA, it’s so cool.”
Costello said the show will continue to shine a light on the state’s sporting clubs, community groups and struggling tourism operators, and will also do episodes in Cambodia and the Northern Territory.
South Aussie with Cosi is rated number 1 in its timeslot and its audience on the network’s online streaming service, 7plus, has grown more than 56 per cent this year.
