Adelaide TikTok sensation Jenna Hudson lost the battle but gained a fiancee as she made a spectacular exit from The Voice Australia.
The social media star and aspiring singer was up against her partner Yorke Heath in a sudden-death sing-off on Seven’s reality talent show.
After coach Kate Miller-Heidke selected Heath to progress through to the next stage, the Port Pirie-born singer-songwriter stunned Hudson by getting down on one knee and popping the question live on-air.
“I was so surprised when he asked me on stage, I had absolutely no idea what he was about to do. I felt a little awkward, as I remember thinking it was the Judges turn to talk, not ours,” said Hudson, better known online as Jenna With The Pink.
The Sydney-based couple were immediately swamped by the star coaches, including Adelaide’s Guy Sebastian, who offered to perform at their upcoming nuptials.
“I’m going to have to come and sing at your wedding!” the former Australian Idol winner said.
Heath proposed with a classic yellow gold solitaire ring with a round, brilliant cut diamond by Adelaide jeweller Gerard McCabe.
“I had it in my pocket all day and I was nervous it was going to fall out on stage, or that I would lose it,” he said.
Hudson, a full-time content creator with over 1.5 million followers, was originally “roped in” to perform on The Voice after supporting Heath, at his initial audition.
She said she couldn’t be happier to see her new fiance – whom she met six years ago at the supermarket – advance to the next stage of the competition.
“I am so happy he won, he really deserves it. It really is his time to shine,” Hudson said.
The former model was a Miss Universe finalist and won the curve section of Australian Supermodel of the Year in 2017. But debilitating issues with body dysmorphia and eating disorders derailed that career.
After quitting a nursing degree at university, Hudson joined TikTok during the pandemic and the rest is social media history.
