THE Fringe is set to burn even brighter in February and March with a record 6000 artists lined up to participate in its biggest-ever program released today.

Director Heather Croall said that in addition to the increase in artists, the number of listed events had also risen from 1160 to 1223.

“It’s amazing, just incredible,” she said. There are 442 registered venues, and hubs will fan from the city to the suburbs and regions including Gawler and Whyalla.

The Fringe - Australia’s biggest arts festival - will open on February 16 with a street party and Parade of Light outdoor projections, and continue until March 18.

Circus performers from Le Aerial (pictured) and The Talents of Darkness (pictured) will stage shows at the Adelaide Convention Centre and Tandanya.

Ticket sales are set to open at 9am via the Fringe website.

Phone sales and the Rundle Mall FringeTIX box office open at 9.30am, while the printed program will be included in The Advertiser on January 6.
