Adelaide newlyweds Mimi and Kristian Belperio are tipped to make a splash on the new season of The Block.

Nine’s renovation show is known for its intense feuding between contestants and this year’s series, filmed on Victoria’s Phillip Island, is expected to be no exception.

Early reports suggest the Belperios could be at the centre of the drama, with a TV insider revealing the couple will “bring the dynamite” to certain situations.

But Mimi and Kristian said they have “no regrets” about their time on the program.

“We’re not worried about how we’re going to be portrayed on the show because everything that we said was how we felt in that moment given the situation that we were in,” Mimi, 28, said.

“We own everything that we said and we don’t have any regrets.”

Kristian, 31, an electrician, admitted they were “wary” of the other contestants.

“But at the same time (we were) open to creating these unique relationships as we’re all in such a unique situation that only we get to experience,” he said.

Kristian and Mimi, who manages the family’s Vietnamese restaurant, Ba Khang, in West Lakes, are no strangers to the spotlight.

Their extravagant wedding in November became an online sensation after a video of the bridal party entering the reception and dancing in sync to a Lizzie McGuire hit song was released on TikTok.

The video garnered an incredible 6.2 million views and almost 500,000 likes in just a week.

Mimi said that she enjoys being the centre of attention and described herself as someone who’s “always trying to entertain”.

“For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a love for performing, being on stage and have been very comfortable in front of the camera,” she said.

“So I guess that was a part of the reason why I wanted to apply for The Block to see what it’s like to be in front of the cameras all the time while being ourselves.”

Kristian added: “Mimi has always dreamt of being in front of a camera, so coming on this show was definitely something she was ready for.”

The couple, who previously renovated their own home, said starring on The Block would be the “ultimate test” for their relationship.

“I definitely love to have control when it comes to decision making. I tend to trust my gut and my gut is always right,” said Mimi.

“Kristian can be unorganised which I think will be his biggest downfall on the show but hopefully it improves as the weeks progress.”

Channel 9 paid almost $9 million for the Phillip Island resort site, which will be turned into five luxury homes during this season, which premieres on Monday at 7.30pm.
