Napoli is back – and the pizza is as good as ever

When Georgia Efrosinis and Mauro Sasso bought into Napoli Wood Fired Pizzeria over the Christmas break, they couldn’t have foreseen the challenges that would face the hospitality industry in the months ahead.
However, the pair say they are “super happy” with how business has grown since they reopened the restaurant doors on March 18.
“We had a soft opening and it was business as usual for a bit, then of course with the regulations we had to move to just takeaway, says Georgia. “But we’re still so pumped and excited to be doing what we love.”
The husband-and-wife team isn’t new to the restaurant. “My husband and I worked at Napoli a few years ago – he was the pizza maker and I was working front of house,” Georgia says. “We loved it there.” The pair travelled to Italy for their wedding and remained for five months. Then, they were offered an opportunity: to take over Napoli as business partners.
“We reduced the menu to just pizza and antipasti,” Georgia says. “We want to focus on the quality of good pizza.”
And for their local fanbase who haven’t yet ventured back, they assure the pizza is still as good as ever. “It is 100 per cent Neapolitan pizza,” she says.
