The battle for South Australian iced coffee supremacy has a third local contender, with Bickford’s launching three ready-to-drink flavours: Coffee Classic, Coffee Extra Shot and Coffee Almond.
“The centenary celebration for our Iced Coffee Syrup coupled with the technology of our new (aseptic) production line has enabled us to answer a common request,” Bickford’s marketing manager, Chris Illman said.
The Advertiser pitched Bickford’s Coffee Classic against Farmer’s Union Iced Coffee and Nippy’s Iced Coffee.
And our taste testers were divided.
Leigh St barber Alec Mastrangelo preferred Farmers Union.
“The coffee flavour and creaminess is just right,” he said.
“The Bickford’s is weak and not so creamy.”
City cafe waiter Matilda Wise gave her vote to Bickford’s. “It’s not too strong, has good colour and is pretty creamy.”
Winemaker Callum Strong went for Nippy’s. “(Bickford’s) doesn’t have the creaminess or nice bitterness of the others.”
So Bickford’s iced coffee range is in the mix.
It launches October 1 at Foodland and On the Run.
