SA’s 2019 delicious.100 new restaurant of the year, Sparkke at the Whitmore, is entering a new era.

One year since opening its doors, head chef Emma McCaskill and the Sparkke team will launch the restaurant as “fare” – a separate dining experience from the pub itself.

“We have deeply thought through names over the past 12 months, which has given us time to reflect and work out exactly what we are doing,” says Emma.

“fare is everything we are about and believe in on a plate. We welcome everyone to come and join our fare.”

Emma, who previously cooked at Penfolds Magill Estate Restaurant and The Pot by Emma McCaskill, has become known for her contemporary approach to cuisine, inspired by her Indian heritage. She will introduce fare with a degustation of her new autumn menu on International Women’s Day, Sunday, with Cath Kerry, Sparkke co-founder Rose Kentish and sommelier Liinaa Berry.

On the day, Sparkke at the Whitmore also will offer women a 9.2 per cent discount on all Sparkke beverages to illustrate the gender pay gap.

Tickets $95, 317 Morphett St, city, 7123 0808, sparkke.com
