More retail brands have been secured for Parafield Airport’s $50m District Outlet Centre (DOC), with more than 90 per cent of tenancies leased ahead of the centre’s opening later this year.
Strandbags, Cotton On Mega, Supre, Ally Fashion and You + All will all open stores at DOC, which previously announced dozens of other tenants including Puma, Timberland, Sketchers and Kathmandu.
DOC is described as Adelaide’s only undercover discount outlet centre, providing a similar offering to Harbour Town at West Beach.
Devwest Group development director Brett Lovett, who’s overseeing the project, said the concept had generated strong interest from local, national and international retail brands.
“The countdown is on to our grand opening and it’s fantastic to have 51 tenancies filled and only 4 remaining,” he said.
Realmark Commercial retail sales and leasing director Michael Richardson said the five newest brands to commit to the centre would occupy some of the bigger tenancies, covering a total of about 1800sq m of retail floor-space.
DOC was designed by Intro Architects and is being built by local construction company Ahrens.
It will feature 55 fashion, sports and homewares brands across a total of 15,000sq m of retail space, as well as a food court and close to 600 car parks.
It is expected to open in the middle of the year.
