Sky News Australia will air rolling federal election coverage over two days this weekend.

Peta Credlin will be part of Sky News’ election coverage.

Sky News Australia will air rolling federal election coverage over two days this weekend, with its team of political pundits to be joined on polling night by senior figures from the Liberal, Labor and Nationals parties.

Saturday’s coverage on the News Corp-owned channel will begin at 6am, with live crosses to polling booths across the nation until voting closes.

Australia Decides: Election Night Live, anchored by leading Australian political journalist Kieran Gilbert, gets under way at 5pm Saturday. He will be joined on the panel by former chief of staff to prime minister Tony Abbott, Peta Credlin, and Sky News political editor Andrew Clennell.

Sky News chief election analyst Tom Connell will call the seats as they fall.

Anchors Paul Murray and Laura Jayes will be live at Liberal HQ throughout the night, while Sky News anchor Chris Kenny will be live from Labor headquarters, along with Deputy Lord Mayor of Melbourne and former adviser to prime minister Julia Gillard, Nicholas Reece.

Politicians to feature on the election night panel include Graham Richardson, a cabinet minister in the Hawke-Keating governments; Nationals Senate leader and Emergency Management Minister, Bridget McKenzie; Queensland Liberal senator James McGrath; outgoing federal Labor MP for the NSW mining seat of Hunter, Joel Fitzgibbon; and Queensland Labor senator Murray Watt.

Further analysis of the election results will be offered by from former Labor cabinet minister in the Rudd-Gillard governments, Stephen Conroy, and former Victorian Liberal Party president, Michael Kroger.

On Sunday, Sky News election coverage will begin at 7am, and conclude with Paul Murray Live from 8pm.
