Scott Salisbury Group’s The Adelphi to kick off in March

More than 60 per cent of apartments in a luxury development at Glenelg North have been sold off the plan – and work will start in the coming weeks.

Adelaide CBD projects under construction and approved

Work on a $52m luxury apartment development at Glenelg North will kick off in March following the appointment of a local builder to oversee construction.

Developer Scott Salisbury Group has engaged Kennett Builders to build the waterfront development on Adelphi Terrace, which will include 49 apartments across seven storeys and 17 townhouses.

Scott Salisbury Group managing director Scott Salisbury said the development, known as The Adelphi, had already attracted “extremely high” demand from buyers, with more than 60 per cent of the apartments sold off the plan.

“I’m not surprised at the demand for The Adelphi because the concept and design have been really well thought through – the views and location sell themselves and the first level has been purposefully designed off the ground, above the carpark, to ensure each residence benefits from elevated views,” he said.

“Another main point of difference of The Adelphi, which sets it apart from other developments, is that it is being built specifically for owner-occupiers who love the location and lifestyle Glenelg North can offer – there won’t be any short-term apartment rentals.”

Overlooking the Patawalonga Boat Haven, The Adelphi comprises a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, and penthouses on the upper levels.

The townhouses will be set behind the apartment building with access from Tod St.

Designed by Adelaide architecture firm Aplin Cook Gardner, the development will also offer undercover parking, landscaping and outdoor seating areas.

Mr Salisbury said the project would create much-needed jobs in the wake of COVID-19 and would help stimulate the local economy.

“The Adelphi is an unprecedented development for Glenelg North in terms of its size and premium waterside address.”

Scott Salisbury Group won planning approved for The Adelphi in October 2019 after the company paid more than $6m for six blocks stretching across close to 7000sq m.

Construction is expected to take 12 to 18 months.
