Woman involved in a truck crash at Steelton on dies in hospital

An 80-year-old woman has become the 112th life lost on our roads this year, after she died in hospital following a horror truck crash on Monday.

An 80-year-old woman has become the 112th life lost on our roads this year, after she died in hospital following a horror truck crash on Monday.

The Parrakie woman has not been identified.

She was a passenger in a car that collided with a truck at Steelton on Monday, at the intersection of Steelton Road and Main Road.

The driver of the Toyota truck, a 28-year-old man from Duncan, suffered minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital.

Following the crash, the 70-year-old driver of the Mazda sedan and the 80-year-old woman, both from Parrakie, were flown to Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious injuries.

The woman died from her injuries on Friday.

Her death is the latest in an increasing number of road deaths in South Australia.

At this time last year there were 67 compared with 112 so far this year.
