7 seriously weird animal stories

From a sheep crossed with a goat, to a bull having his ACL operated on, we’ve rounded up some of the quirkiest animal stories.

That meant groundbreaking surgery for the 1250kg Emperor who was operated on at Geelong Veterinary Clinic.

It took three veterinary surgeons using 700-pound Marlin fishing line and stainless steel plates to stabilise the joint.

Rogue sheep

Baarack, the Merino, was found wandering the Cobaw State Forest near Lancefield.The sheep had a 35kg overgrown fleece — at least five years’ worth of growth.

Following his rescue, Baarack was cared for at Edgar’s Mission, a not-for-profit farm sanctuary in Lancefield that caters for animals in need.

After the fleece was shorn, it went on display at Geelong's National Wool Museum.
