Tasmania’s Jeremiah Lowe has produced one of the most eye-catching stat lines of the tournament as Ivor Burge teams made their first appearance in Ballarat on Wednesday.

Lowe recorded an incredible 55 points, 15 rebounds, six assists and six steals in a 160-42 victory for the Tassie IB men over WA.

Every match from the Show Court at the Basketball Australia Under-20 & Ivor Burge National Championships was live streamed on KommunityTV.

Lowe shot at a remarkable clip of 75 per cent from the field and 94 per cent from two-point range, missing just once.

Brayden Cowell and Bailey Menzies also scored 29 and 26 points respectively in Tasmania’s big win.

In the day’s opening match, Queensland came out on top of a cracking women’s contest against New South Wales to continue an impressive start to the tournament.

The Maroons led early but had to withstand a Jessie-May Hall-led charge in the final quarter to hold on.

Prasayus Notoa starred with 19 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists in the 86-79 victory while Emma Petrie (24 points) and Teyahna Bond (20) were also prolific.

NSW gun Hall battled hard for her side to notch 28 points, eight boards and eight assists.

In other results, men’s favourites Victoria took down South Australia 104-75 on the back of a Luke Fennell masterclass before thumping NSW Blue 104-61 in the final game of the day.

PREVIEW

New South Wales and Queensland will face an early test of their respective contender credentials when they meet in Show Court action on Day 2 at the Basketball Australia Under-20 & Ivor Burge National Championships.

The State of Origin clash at 9am begins a line-up of six live streamed fixtures on the main court on Wednesday.

NSW got its tournament off to a promising start with a comfortable 95-64 defeat of Victoria Navy on the opening day.

Check out today’s LIVE STREAM schedule below.

Star quartet Jessie-May Hall, Ruby Perkins, Lucy Meade and Jade Crook were all influential in the victory as the Blues piled on 20 points to four in the final quarter.

And they’ll need to be on top of their game against a stacked Queensland outfit which demolished the ACT 100-49.

Keriana-Marie Hippolite led the way with 19 points but the Maroons run deep and NSW will also need to be wary of Prasayus Notoa, Alleah Hanson, Emma Petrie and Sharni Reisinger.

Other Show Court highlights on Day 2 are set to include a meeting between two talented men’s sides in SA and Victoria, plus WA taking on the Vics in the women’s.

Ivor Burge teams also hit the court for the first time on Wednesday with Tasmania taking on WA at 3pm (men’s) and Queensland facing Victoria at 5pm (women’s)

Every match of the Basketball Australia Under-20 and Ivor Burge National Championships will be exclusively live streamed on KommunityTV from January 28 – February 2.
