Mountain Creek State High bounced back in a big way, with the Queenslanders overturning an earlier loss on day two to send a shockwave through the Under-20 Division 1 women’s tournament.
Having gone down to Tasmanian rivals Guildford Young College by 10 points on Tuesday morning, the Sunshine Coast girls refused to dwell in the loss.

Instead they came out firing to hand high;y-fancied home team Southport State High its first loss of the tournament in a 52-45 thriller late on day two.
With The Southport School having picked up a win over Guildford Young College on Monday, it has blown the race for the top spot in Pool A wide open.
All three schools now have two wins for the tournament after the Tasmanian side closed out Tuesday’s action on court three with a resounding ??-?? win over Pymble Ladies College.

Also on court three, St James College powered past Brisbane Grammar School 81-64 in the Under-20 Division 1 Men, while a 21-point haul to Roman Stathis helped power The Scots College to a 58-50 win over rivals St Dominic’s College.
Victorian powerhouse Templestowe College picked up its first win of the Under-20 Division 1 Men’s tournament with a 10-point win over Haileybury College.

Brisbane Grammar School will look to continue its strong start on the second day of the Basketball Australia Schools Championships.
With Angus Kearney leading the way, the BGS boys will have plenty of confidence heading into a big court three showdown against fellow opening day winners St James College.
The Brisbane Capitals young gun showed his competitive stream with a 20-bomb on the opening day, and will be determined to match fire-for-fire with St James College dynamic duo Kon Guet and Marcus Donaldson.

The clash will headline a big second day of action on court three which includes seven matches from across the Under-20 Division 1 tournaments.
Victorian representatives Templestowe College will look to get their tournament back on track when they clash with rivals Haileybury College, while it will be a battle of Sydney’s eastern and western suburbs when The Scots College clashes with St Dominic’s College in the other men’s Under-20 Division 1 games.
Hometown heroes Southport State High will pull double duty in the Under-20 Division 1 women’s tournament, taking on both Trinity Anglican College and Mountain Creek State High.
