Coates Talent League 2025 live stream: AFL and KommunityTV to broadcast exclusive matches
Future draft prospects will be front and centre as the Coates Talent League returns to KommunityTV every round in 2025. See how to watch exclusive matches LIVE featuring top young guns.
The future stars of AFL and AFLW will once again be on show in 2025 with KommunityTV set to bring weekly Coates Talent League games to a screen near you.
Thanks to the continuation of a partnership between the AFL and News Corp Australia, boys and girls matches showcasing some of the country’s top draft prospects will be live streamed each round.
With the under-age competition a proven stepping stone for players hoping to make the big time, a number of rising talents will be aiming to show their best this season and become the next Sam Lalor or Ash Centra.
Coverage will feature one boys and one girls game live and exclusive on KommunityTV each round.
In what promises to be a competitive start to the season, the Gippsland Power and Murray Bushrangers boys will kick off proceedings on Sunday, March 30.
The round one match will serve as a rematch of the two sides’ wildcard round finals clash last season, where the Power ended the Bushrangers campaign in a seven-point thriller.
The girls will have to wait another week for their season to begin when Sandringham Dragons and Eastern Rangers face off in the first of a massive double-header on Sunday, April 6.
Both the girls (1pm) and boys (11.30am) matches from RSEA Park will be streamed live.
With the Talent League producing an array of the elite level’s best young players, AFL Head of Talent Nicky Couston said the competition continued to be a key pillar of the pathways system.
“We are thrilled to continue our streaming partnership with News Corp Australia to showcase one game from each of the Coates Talent League Boys and Girls competitions every round of the 2025 season, via KommunityTV,” Couston said.
“The Coates Talent League is an important part of the Australian football pathway system and, with the support of the community clubs involved, has produced more AFL and AFLW players than any other league. It is also an important development program for emerging coaches, umpires, administrators and support staff.
“On behalf of the Coates Talent League programs and everyone involved, we thank News Corp for their continued support and for helping to take the competition to broader audiences.”
The exclusive live stream coverage will also include three of the AFL’s interstate academy sides in the Brisbane Lions, Gold Coast Suns and Sydney Swans.
Tasmania will also feature despite their reduced schedule in 2025 with the Devils boys and girls’ side matches available on Sunday, June 22 and Sunday, July 27.
The Coates Talent League coverage will feature a mix of boys and girls double-headers as well as stand-alone fixtures across the season before culminating in the finals series. KommunityTV will broadcast a non-exclusive match of the round from each week of the finals series before the grand final weekend.
WHEN YOU CAN WATCH TOP PROSPECTS LIVE
GIPPSLAND POWER v MURRAY BUSHRANGERS
R1 Boys - Sunday, March 30
This Coates Talent League boys opener could be headlined by a midfield battle between Gippsland’s Willem Duursma and Bushrangers onballer Riley Onley.
Duursma – a familiar name in recent years with siblings Xavier, Yasmin and Zane all competing at the top level – has made his mark so far as a utility who can make an impact all over the park.
Likely to show his ability as an inside midfielder among other roles in 2025, this match will give an early glimpse as to where the 191cm quality ball user will be most damaging this year.
Opposing him will be a genuine big bodied midfielder in Onley.
The powerful Bushrangers product will be one to watch ahead of this year’s draft and featured three times as a bottom-ager for Vic Country in 2024.
CALDER CANNONS v NORTHERN KNIGHTS
R3 Boys, R2 Girls - Sunday, April 6
The Calder Cannons footy factory looks to have produced another pair of highly-talented prospects in Cooper Duff-Tytler and Chloe Baker-West.
Duff-Tytler – a 199cm ruck/forward – has represented Australia at junior level in basketball along with several impressive elite pathway tournaments with Vic Country.
But the 17-year-old has chosen footy going forward and has already drawn comparisons to Fremantle star Luke Jackson.
Essendon NGA small forward Hussien El Achkar will be one to watch for Bombers fans.
Midfielder Baker-West will likely be front and centre for the Cannons in the girls’ clash against the Knights.
A ball-magnet with great endurance, the reigning back-to-back Vic Metro U16 MVP battled injury last year but looks set for a big 2025.
BRISBANE LIONS v GEELONG FALCONS
R4 Boys, R3 Girls -Sunday, April 27
Brisbane’s academy has provided plenty of top-end talent in recent years and midfielder Daniel Annable looks set to be the next in line.
A natural ball-winner, Annable’s strong work ethic and ability to impact both inside and outside the contest will be key for the Lions boys this Coates Talent League campaign.
On the Geelong side, the run, carry and ball use of Josh Lindsay will be worth keeping an eye on, as will fellow AFL Academy member Ben Rongdit, who is tied to Geelong’s Next Generation Academy.
The Falcons prospect is able to play off half-back or on the wing and was named best on ground in the U17 Futures match on AFL grand final day playing for Team Heppell.
Meanwhile, expect strong left-footer Stella Huxtable to be among the key movers for the Geelong girls.
Huxtable is a dominant inside midfielder with an ability to push forward and compete in the air.
EASTERN RANGES v GOLD COAST SUNS
R5 Boys, R4 Girls - Sunday, May 4
Zeke Uwland – brother of Gold Coast’s Bodhi – is tipped as one of the top prospect’s in this year’s pool and Round 5 marks his first appearance for the season on KommunityTV.
Skill and plenty of run are the hallmarks of Uwland’s game and he will be a dangerous weapon in the midfield or across half-back
Another highly-rated talent is key forward Dekota Baron, who looms as one of the best tall prospects in the girls ranks.
Baron is a high-flyer with great forward craft and looms as a high selection in the 2025 AFLW draft.
GWV REBELS v SYDNEY SWANS
R6 Boys, R5 Girls - Saturday, May 10
A trio of Swans academy prospects in Noah Chamberlain, Max King and Lachie Carmichael will headline this Round 6 boys clash against the Rebels.
General defender Carmichael is a nice interceptor who can use the ball well coming out of the back half while at the other end Chamberlain has shown promise as an athletic half-forward.
Finally, King is a big-bodied midfielder who rounds out a strong crop of academy talents that the Swans will be eager to develop in the years to come.
OAKLEIGH CHARGERS v BRISBANE LIONS
R7 Boys, R6 Girls - Sunday, May 18
Ruckman Louis Emmett was a strong performer for the Chargers as a bottom-ager in 2024 and will be one of the most-watched tall prospects heading into his draft year.
A mobile big man, Emmett has also shown he can push forward with good effect.
The Chargers also have Alijah Davey, the youngest son of Alwyn and the brother of twins Alwyn Jnr and Jayden, and Jack Graham, the son of ex-Geelong superboot Ben.
With 18 goals in 15 Coates Talent League girls games last campaign, Chloe Bown is another in the Oakleigh ranks who will hope to go to another level.
Played a key role as the Chargers won back-to-back premierships as she made an impact in the midfield and up forward.
DANDENONG STINGRAYS v OAKLEIGH CHARGERS
R11 Boys, R10 Girls - Saturday, June 14
Exciting forward Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves already lit up the KommunityTV screens in 2024 with the Stingrays and returns this season as an intriguing draft prospect.
The 185cm talent booted 23 goals from 16 games and should have one of the competition’s better highlight reels when all is said and done.
His Stingrays teammate Toby Sinnema is a half-back wingman tied to Melbourne’s
NGA program.
TASMANIA v SANDRINGHAM DRAGONS
R12 Boys, R11 Girls - Sunday, June 22
Increasing attention has already started to be focused on the Tasmanian ranks ahead of the Devils’ AFL debut in 2028.
Tassie will first feature on KTV against Sandringham and tall talent Jasper Hay is the leading boys prospect this year coming out of the Apple Isle.
Primarily a ruckman, national academy member Hay could be used in a variety of roles this campaign.
For Sandringham Dragons, Archie Ludowyke shapes as one of the top key forwards on offer, with his overhead marking and leap standing out.
On the girls side, Prirya Bowering is a highly-rated two-way running midfielder who has shown great promise at racking up the footy.
Mischa Barwin will already be known to KTV audiences after her 27 disposals and three goals in a best on ground display last year.
The high half-forward/midfielder has X-factor and a nose for goal.
