2025-26 NTFL live stream: Watch PINT v Palmerston Magpies in Round 7

A spectacular eight-goal haul from debutant Noah Spiteri has headlined PINT's crushing demolition of Palmerston in Saturday’s round 7 clash. Watch the REPLAY here.

PINT further clamped down their hold on second place with a well-managed victory against Palmerston on Saturday, spurred on by an eight goal outing from a debutant.

The Greenants on their home deck of DXC Arena couldn’t buy a major in the first term but unleashed their full strength in the ensuring quarter.

First gamer Noah Spiteri led the charge with eight goals as his side downed Palmerston to the tune of a 20.16 (136) to 6.3 (39) win.

Palmerston started the better side from an accuracy standpoint kicking three goals while PINT went seven behinds in a row without getting a big one.

The Pies slotted the first two majors with clinical set-shot finishing, punishing PINT’s wastefulness as the Greenants dominated field position but butchered chances.

A clever snap from Palmerston’s Nayef Hamad made it three goals from scoring shots, and despite PINT controlling possession, the Pies took a 19–7 lead into the opening break.

But from there, the switch flicked and PINT’s pressure went through the roof.

Locking the ball in their front half as Palmerston struggled to clear their defensive 50.

Thomas Schott, Archie Stevens and James Rowe came into their own, the latter turning into an assist machine.

The home side inflicted serious scoreboard hurt, keeping the visitors scoreless while adding 36.

Tempers boiled over after the long break.

Palmerston’s Waylon Davey sparked multiple melees and a sideline brawl - and the umpires had their hands full, while PINT kept their composure far better.

PINT kept the score flowing at a steady rate of knots, as Palmerston imploded at the back.

The final quarter turned into the Spiteri show.

The Wodonga Bulldog recruit - playing his first ever game for another club - tore the game apart, producing stunning finishing with a blistering 8.3 scoresheet to stamp his arrival in style.

After easing into the match with a behind in the first term, a goal and two more behinds in the second, he found real rhythm with a pair of majors in the third.

But the final stanza saw him go to another level, slotting five majors to blow the match open, sealing a healthy percentage booster in the process.

“I got in on Monday so I’ve had a good amount of training in with the boys which was needed as I was taught the system and was told what was required of me and my role,” he said.

“It was not ideal at all how we started the game. We couldn’t kick a goal to save ourselves.

“But the game soon turned and we got into it and the goals followed.”

Despite putting together a best on performance on debut, the new recruit was humble, saying he had plenty of help from his new teammates.

“There were a lot of selfless boys out there tonight,” he said.

“That made my job a lot easier.

“So as a first game, it’s unreal.

The fly-in is hoping to become a semi-regular for the Greenants to provide the go ahead and finishing PINT have missed the past few years.

“I’m hoping to play up until the Christmas break and then from there, I’m not sure what’ll happen but now I’ve got to see if I can (back this up) next week.”

PREVIEW

PINT will be intent on strengthening their grip on a top two position when they take on a Palmerston Magpies outfit still in need of a win in round 7.

Every moment of the match will be live streamed from 4.30pm on Saturday by The NT News and KommunityTV as part of our season-long NTFL coverage.

WHY TO WATCH

The Greenants have been the big improvers in the early stages of the season with significant wins against Waratah, Tiwi and St Mary’s in the opening rounds of the season.

Their only loss to date has come against Southern Districts, landing them in second, and in with a strong shout for just a second finals appearance at Premier League level.

Former Adelaide Crow James Rowe has been a standout, both in front of the sticks and in the forward 50, with his inclusion strengthening an area of the ground PINT had previously struggled in.

Elsewhere, Connor McDonald has been a standout in the ruck and midfield while Archie Stevens has proven he is an elite ball winner.

Palmerston will take some confidence following a valiant match against the Tiwi Bombers last round in which they did lead by 20 points at one stage.

The pendulum eventually swung back against them and they lost by 24 points but it was the sort of performance the young side needed.

Skipper Shaun Wilson was among the best on ground while Joel Munnich got a Rising Star nomination nod.
