The Nightcliff women’s unbeaten run has continued after seeing off a strong challenge from the much-improved Southern Districts on Saturday.
The losing grand finalists of last season saw off the reigning premiers St Mary’s last time out but the challengers didn’t stop coming with the finals-bound Districts next up.
But despite their spirited opposition, Nightcliff brought it home again off the back of three goals from Jasmine Ware to win 7.4 (46) to 4.3 (27).

Nightcliff were the only scorers of the first quarter dominating the midfield battles with skipper Gabrielle Deller among the most influential.
But a couple quick goals from Eva Harris and Emma Forsyth put the Crocs ahead early in the second quarter and it took Ware’s first of the night to level matters at half time.
Tigers took control again in the third quarter heading toward the airport end of TIO Stadium and it was this spell that ultimately secured the win.
Usual goal scorers Cassie McWilliam and Hannah Garland came to the party and struck through the middle while the likes of Eliza Hand and Deller kept pumping the ball their way.
Districts continued to show defiance to the end tying the goal scoring in the final quarter with a last minute goal from Isabella Boyd proving they will continue to be a challenge in the months to come.

The Nightcliff women are still unbeaten this season, but an incoming challenge from the much-improved Southern Districts is one that could end their dominance.

WHY TO WATCH
The Tigers knocked off reigning premiers St Mary’s in their last outing two weeks ago and that will have instilled the ladder leaders with plenty of confidence.
It was a huge step for Nightcliff after losing last year’s decider, with their quest for redemption on track to this point of the season.
Kierra Zerafa has been a huge inclusion for the side while Laura Roy and Cassie McWilliam are constant threats around the goalsquare.
Meanwhile, Districts dominated Waratah in their last outing, leaving Waratah scoreless in another sign that this is a team that can cause trouble come finals time.
Jade Moir and Maddi Shaw were among the best on ground in the defensive masterclass while Grace Mulvahil, Taelah Smith and Rhania Hewitt combined for 10 goals inside 50.
Last time these sides met Nightcliff ran away with a 35-point win, but they will expect a bigger challenge now that their opposition has started to find their stride.
