Brett Deledio’s football journey is set to continue a little closer to home for the remainder of 2021.

The former Richmond and GWS star has been cleared to Girgarre in the Kyabram District Football League.

Deleido’s move back to country footy will see him link up with brother Matt, who recently joined from Torquay, and brother-in-law Billy Barnes, who is the Roos’ senior coach.

Girgarre currently sits 10th on the KDL ladder after five rounds with a record of two wins and three losses.

The 275-game AFL veteran recently completed a two-game stint with Devon Meadows in the MPNFL Division 2.

In his last game on Saturday, he kicked two goals in an 18-point win.

“He gave us a bit forward and then went on the ball in the last quarter, he was good,” Devon Meadows coach Neil Craig said of Deledio.

“He was good around the club again. Terrific.

“It (having him) was a great boost for the club, both financially and on the field.’’

Deledio’s father Wayne is also one of the club’s assistant coaches with his sister Sheridan playing in the Roos’ A-grade netball side.

It is not yet confirmed when he will make his debut for the club.
