Plenty of promise and breeding found at Heathcote for the region’s first foal show.
The Australian Pony Stud Book’s North Central Promotional Group was the first to hold this season’s foal show at Heathcote Showgrounds.
While the adult horses are home grazing, the babies have finished being weaned and are bright eyed, bushy tailed and very noisy, while experiencing their foals first show first shows and gaining some ring education and manners.
Supreme champion third generation pony was Simmie Gilroy, a youngster with some of the famous old Fairlight Acres and Lakevale bloodlines.
The Shetland Filly Foal Champion Kristamoor Lodge Winter Rose could have a real future as a saddle pony as her own pedigree is solid with ponies bred to work well.
Supreme Small Shetland Youngstock Gully Lodge Bobby Dazzler H Beaman is an upstanding baby and champion Australian Foal Mahogany Park Emperor is another that shows the Australian Pony breeders are determined to keep the true type in mind when breeding ponies.
Champion Welsh A foal Dantra Park Golden Gus is a handsome foal showing great movement.
In the saddle pony section the Thorpe Family showed the Supreme Ridden Pony Rosedale Popeye.
