HE IS already a member of the Ovens and Murray league Hall of Fame, but on Saturday Jon Henry will officially join the ranks of Wangaratta’s legends.
Henry will be one of five inductees into the Hall of Fame for the Magpies, with whom he played 210 games before retiring after winning premierships in 2007 and 2008.
Henry, who has coached the interleague side for the past three years, also coached Wangaratta from 2002 to 2006.
“It’s a great accolade,” he said.
“We’ve got a long history of great players and people through the place, so it’s good to be inducted in with some of the other people I really look up to.”
Wangaratta will also induct its first female Hall of Fame member, Audrey Sturgeon, for her outstanding 60-year contribution.
Another inductee is Fred Carey, a premiership coach and the inaugural winner of the Ovens and Murray’s best-and-fairest award, the Morris Medal, in 1933.
