Two southeast South Australian farms have been sold in separate top-dollar deals after short stints on the market.

An undisclosed buyer has purchased more than 4000ha of farmland at Tintinara, 45km northwest of Bordertown.

Details of the transaction remain under strict confidentiality arrangements, but it is understood the property was listed with a $30 million price guide when it hit the market earlier this year.

A South Australian grower had owned the property for the past 15 years, adding adjoining land until it formed its current 4029ha size.

Comprising lucerne pastures over nine freehold certificates of title, it is understood the land has been sold as a whole.

The property was offered with three shearing sheds, five houses and eight hay or machinery sheds.

Elders Real Estate Keith selling agent Michael Lind handled the sale and declined to comment on the transaction.

Meanwhile, the Rowett family has sold its 3932ha Kynoch farming portfolio comprising irrigated and dryland cropping country as well as a major onion business.

Listed for sale last year, the Rowett family’s portfolio comprises five titles of farmland at McCallum and three titles at the packing facility near Bordertown, all of which have been sold to an undisclosed buyer for an undisclosed price.

Colliers Agribusiness agents Tim Altschwager and Jesse Manuel completed the sale and did not comment on the transaction due to confidentiality agreements.

Tony, Glenda and Wayne Rowett had more than 30 years of experience in the wholesale vegetable market and grew, packed and supplied between 8000-10,000 tonnes of onions annually at Kynoch farms.

Of the 3932ha of Kynoch farmland, 1000ha has been developed with 27 centre pivot sites, 18 centre pivot irrigators (about 40ha circles) and 3072ML water entitlements under three water licences.

Crops include vegetables, oilseeds, cereals, legumes and brassica.
