ONE of the biggest chunks of cropping country in the nation is on the market for about $200 million.

Milton Downs and Boolcarrol have a combined area of close to 50,000ha and are owned by former Graincorp chief Ron Greentree and business partner Ken Harris.

The land between Wee Waa and Narrabri will be offered as whole but also in blocks as small as 475ha.

Boolcarrol and Milton Downs were previously owned by the Twynam Agricultural Group before John Kahlbetzer sold them to the Greentree-Harris partnership in 2008 for a reported $75 million.

Boolcarrol had largely been a grazing property and Milton Downs was regarded as one of the best cropping operations in northern NSW.

Extensive work by the current owners means 90 per cent of the land can now be cropped.

The aggregation comes with two homesteads and 11 other houses, and a 105,000-tonne grain handling complex.

Expressions of interest close on June 12 and the aggregation is being sold through Ray White Rural Sydney.
