AT least five rural properties have or will go under the hammer in Victoria and southern NSW in June, as COVID-19 restrictions lift.
And a further two properties, which were due to be auctioned at the end of the month, have already been snapped up.
The numbers aren’t far behind June last year when nine rural properties were auctioned for the month.
Currently, 20 people can attend an auction, plus the people required to facilitate, and from June 22 50 will be able to attend.
Last week, the well-known Boorowa farm Neringah, in NSW, went under the hammer for the first time in 20 years making $6,650,000.
The property, marketed by Ray White, was sold via online auction.
Ray White’s Jason Hellyer said the business would conduct auctions in a hybrid style mixing traditional style auctions and online.
“Throughout COVID-19 we have really been able to pivot to online auctions which has worked exceptionally well,” Mr Hellyer said.
“Moving forward we want to integrate a hybrid method which will allow buyers to bid at the auction or online providing them with options.”
Elders’ Reg Coulston was due to auction two Albury properties at the end of the month, the 10ha Kazden and 2ha Snowview Park but Mr Coulston said both had recently sold.
Earlier this month, a portion of the iconic property Devon Park sold at auction in Dunkeld for more than $14 million.
