Prince William hints at Prince Harry feud with rare ‘family’ comment
Prince William has appeared to take a dig at estranged brother Prince Harry during a meeting with British soldiers.
Prince William has joked that family members do not always want to see each other and could be “a mixed bag” as he made his first visit to Britain’s Army Air Corps as their Colonel-in-Chief.
Dressed in camouflage gear, the future king flew to the base in Suffolk in a Wildcat helicopter and immediately got stuck into serving up bacon rolls while chatting to the soldiers about their accommodation and general welfare.
While talking to soldiers on an airfield, Prince William asked about how often they saw their families.
“Some of them might not want to see you that much,” the royal quipped. “It’s a mixed bag sometimes.”
Prince William has been estranged from younger brother Prince Harry amid years of feuding that first became public when Harry and wife Meghan Markle stepped back from royal duties in 2020.
Their relationship further fractured after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spoke out in their bombshell Netflix series, making embarrassing revelations about the royal family.
This was followed shortly by Prince Harry’s explosive memoir Spare, which alleged a physical altercation with Prince William.
It was once thought that Prince Harry would take over the prestigious role of Colonel-in-Chief, but the Duke of Sussex was forced to relinquish his military appointments when he and Meghan stepped down from royal life.
Prince William’s visit came as King Charles marked the 400th anniversary of the Queen’s Chapel, near Buckingham Palace, with a royal service.
He took his seat beside Princess Alexandra for the 40-minute service, which featured music by the Gentlemen and Children of His Majesty’s Chapel Royal Choir.
INTRUDER SPARKS SECURITY SCARE AT WINDSOR CASTLE
A man was arrested after scaling the walls of Windsor Castle, on the same estate where Prince William and Princess Catherine live with their three children.
The unnamed intruder, a man in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of trespass and possession of drugs.
“He broke into the castle near Town Gate and was quickly detained by police,” a source told the Sun.
“It was a crazy thing to do and caused quite a stir but at this stage it appears there was no intent to cause any serious harm.”
It is understood the Prince and Princess of Wales were staying at Adelaide Cottage, their home on the Windsor estate, that day with children George, Charlotte and Louis.
But it is unclear whether William and Catherine were there at the time of the break-in.
The Wales family moved to the Windsor residence in the summer of 2022, just before the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
MEGHAN REVEALS BUSINESS PLAN FOR LILIBET
Meanwhile in the US, Meghan Markle revealed she could soon have a new business partner — her very own daughter Lilibet.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, spoke to Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, about her business mindset in a bonus episode of her Confessions of a Female Founder podcast.
During the episode, the Suits star hinted that she’s considering “building something” with her and Prince Harry’s three-year-old daughter in the future. (The duo also share six-year-old son Archie.)
“I wonder if one day I’ll be in business with Lili and we’ll be building something,” she told Knowles, 71, who spoke about founding hair care brand Cécred with her famous daughter. “That’s the best.”
“You know you have disagreements, and you have to — I’m the one to always cave,” the Matriarch author said of working with the 35-time Grammy winner.
“If my kids are mad at me, I can’t take it. I’ll cave. If we have a disagreement, it’s her business, so she gets the win.”
While it’s unclear exactly which business Meghan hopes to join forces on with her daughter, the former actor is likely referring to her lifestyle brand As Ever, which she launched in March.
“For me at the moment with As Ever, it was … great. We plan, we planned for a year, and then everything sells out in 45 minutes — which yes, amazing. Great news,” Meghan said.
Knowles chimed in, “But then what do you do then?”
“And then you say, ‘OK, we planned as best as we could,’” Meghan responded. “Are we going to replenish and sell out again in an hour? Or is that annoying as a customer?”
“I’m looking at it saying, ‘Just pause. That happened. Let’s wait until we are completely stable and we have everything we need,’” she added.
Less than an hour after items from As Ever’s first drop went live, the entire stock sold out due to overwhelming demand.
“That scarcity mentality at the beginning might be a hook for people, not dissimilar to a sneaker drop,” Meghan said.
“But when you’re talking about products … I don’t want you to eat that jam once every six months. I want it that to be on your shelf all the time.”
She added that her customers “see all the flashy stuff and they see the product. But that endgame, those behind-the-scenes moments, how many tears I’ve shed.”
Elsewhere during the conversation, the former working royal gushed over Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” tour that she attended with Harry last month.
Meghan posted loved-up snaps with Harry on Instagram after attending the gig, writing, “About last night …. Thank you @beyonce and team for an amazing concert (and a very fun date night)! All love.”
Meghan told Knowles that she “loved seeing Yvette there” — referring to the singer’s longtime publicist Yvette Noel-Schure.
“I wrote her a letter after I went to B’s concert a couple of years ago. She said the kindest things and I just wanted her to know how much it meant to me,” she said.
Meghan and Knowles also discussed their mutual friend, Hollywood mogul Tyler Perry.
“Tyler talks about you all … he loves you,” Knowles told Meghan. “He’s a really good friend of mine.”
“Yes, well, he’s a good friend to have,” the duchess said, calling him “the most extraordinary soundboard.”
“It’s interesting for us to be sitting down talking about business, because he is that person that when I have questions about business or just when you feel like you’re off your path, I need to check in with Tyler,” she added.
The Sussexes struck up a close friendship with the filmmaker after he famously allowed them to stay in his $18 million Los Angeles mansion after they quit royal life and moved across the pond in 2020. Perry is also Lilibet’s godfather.
