Using an order of service pamphlet to hide from prying eyes, Princess Catherine and Queen Camilla shared a secret conversation on a balcony as Prince William and King Charles laid wreaths in the lead up to Remembrance Day.
The extra precaution of raising the booklet undoubtedly came about due to lip readers being able to decipher conversations from afar.
The royals were honouring the sacrifices made by servicemen and women on Remembrance Sunday at the Cenotaph in London.
Camilla and Catherine both wore black outfits with poppies on their lapels while Prince William and King Charles were in military garb for the occasion.
“On Remembrance Sunday, we pause to reflect on the extraordinary bravery and sacrifice of all who have served – and continue to serve – in defence of our freedoms.
“We remember them, today and always.” a post on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ Instagram page reads.
Catherine and Camilla's relationship has attracted attention of late.
When US President Donald Trump recently visited the UK, the queen was caught on camera telling Catherine good-naturedly to “shoo” after she chatted to First Lady Melania Trump for too long.
PRINCE GEORGE DOES HIS MUM PROUD IN ROYAL DEBUT
It came the day after Princess Catherine made her first appearance since former prince Andrew was stripped of his titles, attending the Festival of Remembrance in London with her eldest child, Prince George.
Prince George, 12, was making his debut at the 80th annual Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance and the future king looked dapper as he arrived at the Royal Albert Hall.
Prince William was not in attendance as he was travelling back from his Earthshot Prize Awards and the COP30 summit in Brazil.
The Prince of Wales is aiming to be back in the UK in time for the Remembrance Service at the Cenotaph on Sunday, London time.
Catherine wore a stunning black dress from Alessandra Rich and earrings that once belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Her dress was adorned with an HMS Glasgow brooch and a handmade poppy created out of silk, glass and other natural materials by young artist Izzy Ager, of Lock and Co, who recently graduated from the Royal School of Needlework.
Catherine and George attended the festival, which is held each year to commemorate the anniversary of the end of the Second World War in 1945, alongside King Charles and Queen Camilla.
This year, the event had a special emphasis on “the resilience and strength of military children who have faced bereavement” and was hosted by Ted Lasso actress Hannah Waddingham.
Alongside a two-minute silence, the event also featured musical performances from artists including music superstar Sir Rod Stewart, Sam Ryder, Keala Settle and Blessing Offor.
