Israel-Iran conflict live updates: Iran strikes hit major hospital and Tel Aviv

A prominent Israeli commentator says morale is “high” despite a recent attack, with civilians resting their hopes on one major factor.

Welcome to our live coverage of the escalating situation in the Middle East.

Israel has been pelted by “dozens” of ballistic missiles sent from Iran in what has been described as the largest escalation seen this week.

Approximately 32 have been injured, two seriously.

It came as Donald Trump greenlit plans to attack Iran, after telling the press he “may” or “may not” order US forces to join the conflict.

The President told senior aides late on Tuesday (US time) he had approved the plans but was waiting to see if Iran would abandon its nuclear program, three sources familiar with the matter told the Wall Street Journal.

White House sources have since leaked to Bloomberg that the attacks could take place as soon as this weekend.

It comes despite Russia warning the US not to get involved, stressing it “would radically destabilise the entire situation”.

“We caution Washington against even speculative, hypothetical options of this kind,” said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

Meanwhile, a trio of Iranian government planes have landed in Oman as Israel and Iran trade strikes for a seventh consecutive day.
