What you said on Peter Dutton’s declaration that LNP ‘will win’ despite claiming ‘underdog’
Peter Dutton has declared that he has “no doubt the LNP will win” the upcoming federal election despite claiming underdog status. Have your say on who will win. VOTE IN OUR POLL
Peter Dutton has made a bold prediction for the upcoming federal election saying he believes the Liberals “can win” and that he has “no doubt they will”.
But while he is confident, Mr Dutton was quick to claim the underdog status ahead of the election which is widely tipped to be on April 12.
“We are well and truly the underdog, for sure,” Mr Dutton exclusively told Frances Whiting in an exclusive sit down interview for QWeekend.
Mr Dutton said there was a “mountain of seats to climb” but that the LNP were “united” and have a “bigger vision for the country than the current government”.
Plenty of readers have made up their minds about who to vote for, with many pro-Dutton, others fixed in Anthony Albanese’s camp.
Many though, feel the election will be too close to call and have questioned how really is the underdog.

‘Underdog’?? If he and the Coalition don’t win… they should both pack up their bags and fold!! It’s the unlosable election!! The National Party and the Liberal Party should close up or merge with their 20th party if they don’t win!!
BJ
Unfortunately, the Teals and Greens will play a vital part in this election. The undecided voters have to be swayed to only vote for the two major parties for LNP to win. To say the LNP will win is a bold call at this stage.

A ‘bold declaration’ on the election outcome is not a wise political move. He should wait and hope that Australia’s maxi-jinx, Peter FitzSimons, backs Anthony Albanese and his ALP clique to win the 2025 federal contest. His record stands for itself. He is the thumb of doom for all election endorsements, both here and abroad.
Ryan
Simply cannot win. He started this term of opposition with 58 seats. He’s already down to 57. He needs 76 to govern outright. It’s primary school mathematics. It will certainly be a bloodbath for the ALP but they will absolutely be able to scrape together a minority government.

Don’t count your chickens. 26 per cent of people in Werribee voted Labor and they still got in. Deceptive behaviour is a real thing. Preferences need to be clearer on the ballot
Dutton will end the wokeness
Steve
The Election can’t come any sooner and Dutton for PM , he’ll get rid of wokeness and make us Australian again
David
Can’t come soon enough, probably Australia’s last chance to reverse the woke decline at the hands of people who do not have a patriotic bone in their body’s. Dutton is no Trump but better still, he is a fair dinkum Aussie who has the courage & leadership skills to right the terrible wrongs of woke socialism.
Kay
A good man with a true love of our country. A man who will put Australians first, get tough on crime and unite Australia under our one flag. Peter Dutton will make a fine PM. Bring it on!!
Garth
Dutton needs to save Australia from the Labor/ Green/ teal communists.
Many don’t want the LNP in power
Ivan
Are you sure you want the Libs back????? remember the last Liberals ..they were useless ...Abbott kicked out by his own Libs ...Turnbull kicked out by his own Libs l ..Morrison useless ..should have been kicked out by his own Liberals ....and when they lost the 2022 election they left Australia with a massive all time record high debt
Mick
Peter Dutton is an economic disaster looking for somewhere to happen and puff pieces like this won’t change my mind.Everyone needs to remember that when Dutton and the LNP were last in government the inflation rate was 6.1% and now under Labor that same inflation rate is 2.4 per cent.
Ryan
Even with a final vote of 51-49 in favour of LNP, Labor still wins. I’m voting Liberal but I’m not silly enough to know that the numbers don’t stack up this time for Pete. If he’s still there in 2028, maybe. But in reality Pete will never get the chance to be PM.
Bruce
Oh please no! Dud Dutton would destroy Australia! This is the man who opposed the lowest paid workers getting a small pay rise, he wanted tax cuts only for the rich and opposed everyone getting a tax cut, he opposed cheaper medicines and double prescriptions, he opposed increases in welfare payments, he opposed free TAFE, he opposed childcare support for families etc.
