Heavy rain starts falling across Victoria

RAIN is continuing to fall in the northeast of Victoria, with most areas of the state receiving between 5-20mm today.

UPDATE: THE Bureau of Meteorology is expecting another dump of rain next week in Victoria, following steady rain across most of the state today.

As the bureau correctly forecast, totals ranged between 5-20mm in most areas of the state today with rain still falling in the northeast.

Mildura with 25mm, Nhill with 24mm and Yarrawonga with 21mm are so far the best of the totals.

The bureau today forecast a similar weather system would bring more rain across most of the state next Thursday and Friday.

Rain totals since 9am include:

Casterton 4mm, Redesdale 8mm, Yarrawonga 20.4mm, Tatura 4.6mm, Albury 10mm, Lake Eildon 16mm.

Rain totals to 9am:

Annuello 6mm, Mildura 21mm, Ouyen 8mm, Walpeup 9mm, Werrimull 15mm, Sea Lake 5mm, Swan Hill 2mm, Woomelang 4mm, Donald 6mm, Kaniva 21mm, Nhill 24mm, Edenhope 10mm, Horsham 18mm, Natimuk 11mm, Stawell 10mm, Charlton 8mm, Inglewood 3mm, Berringama 16mm, Kilmore 1mm, Cavendish 9mm, Lismore 6mm, Skipton 7mm, Willaura 13mm, Hamilton 11mm, Merino 5mm, Coleraine 7mm, Balmoral 15mm.
