WorkSafe Victoria investigating northern Victorian farm worker death

Authorities are investigating after a 38-year-old farm worker tragically died on a northern Victorian property last week.

Authorities have begun their investigation after the death of a northern Victorian farm worker on Friday, June 23.

Emergency services were called to a Nathalia farm on Friday afternoon after a 38-year-old man died when he was crushed while working on a skid steer loader.

The incident occurred between 4.30pm and 5pm.

WorkSafe Victoria are investigating the incident.

The death is the 28th confirmed workplace fatality this year.

At the same time last year, 31 work-related deaths had occurred.

Nationally, 55 on-farm deaths were reported last year, a 19.5 per cent increase from the 46 reported in 2021.

Earlier this year, a 65-year-old man died in a cattle loading accident while working at a Yarrawonga South property.
