Victorian agricultural and pastoral societies share in $300,000 funding boost
Thirty-nine agricultural and pastoral societies have received a funding boost from the Victorian Government to help put on future shows and events. See who got the grants.
AGRICULTURAL shows and events in Victoria have been giving a financial boost from the state government.
$300,000 in funding will be shared by 39 different agricultural and pastoral societies across the state as part of the 2019-20 Agricultural and Pastoral Society Grants Program.
Minister for Agriculture Jaclyn Symes said the grant packages of up to $10,000 per society will go towards developing or upgrading showground facilities and ensure greater community involvement in agricultural events.
“These grants will not only improve our regional annual shows, but they’ll also benefit the whole community through the various events hosted at these facilities throughout the year,” Ms Symes said.
With many regional events called off due to coronavirus, the funding is hoped to help prepare communities for future events, being used for projects including an animal nursery upgrade and relocatable grandstand seating.
