Truck driver and cattle killed in crash

Emergency services are on scene at a crash at Langkoop, near Edenhope, where a truck driver and number of cattle have died. A woman has also died after a separate crash at Noorat.

A TRUCK driver has died and cattle have been killed in a crash at Langkoop, near the Victorian-South Australian border.

Emergency services are currently on scene at Edenhope-Penola Rd, where investigators were told the truck hit a tree at about 10am.

The male truck driver died at the scene and an unknown number of cattle were also killed in the crash.

The death takes Victoria’s road toll to 31 for the year. 32 people had died on the state’s roads at the same time last year.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined and police will prepare a report for the coroner.

It comes after a woman was killed in a separate car crash at Noorat this morning.

Police believe a car and a 4WD were travelling along Terang-Mortlake Rd when they collided head-on just after 9am.

The driver in the car died at the scene, while a toddler in the 4WD was taken to hospital.

Two women in the 4WD were not injured.
