Nominations open for the Victorian Farmers Federation presidency
Contenders for the Victorian Farmers Federation presidency and vice presidency are gearing up for a springtime campaign. Here are the dates you need to know.
Nominations for the Victorian Farmers’ Federation presidency open today, with it looking to be a wide open field at this stage.
Incumbent president Emma Germano will not renominate for the role, having already served two terms.
Contenders for the top job will declare their hand in the coming fortnight, with Gippsland dairy farmer Paul Mumford previously running for the role in the 2022 election.
Nominations for the VFF vice presidency, livestock group leadership and the United Dairyfarmers of Victoria presidency will also open.
Werribee region egg farmer Danyel Cucinotta is the incumbent VFF vice president, while Ballarat region farmer Scott Young currently holds the livestock group presidency and Warrnambool region farmer Bernie Free is the incumbent UDV president.
Nominations for the five leadership roles close on October 11.
VFF members must be financial and have full voting rights — meaning those in the VFF bronze category aren’t entitled to vote in the 2024 elections.
Online and requested postal ballots will be distributed between November 18 and 20 with the voting process open between November 25 and December 6.
The election results will be announced on December 20.
