Motorcyclist dies after collision with utility in western Victoria

A motorcyclist has died after a collision with a ute towing a caravan in Allansford, near Warrnambool, on Wednesday afternoon.

A motorcyclist has died after a collision with a utility towing a caravan in Allansford, near Warrnambool, on Wednesday

Acting Sergeant Stuart Revell, from Warrnambool police, said the accident happened about 4.10pm and the motorcyclist, a 65-year-old man from Allansford, died at the scene.

“The Major Collision Investigation Unit will be attending and the driver of the ute and caravan is assisting us with our inquiries,” acting Sergeant Revell said.

“Ziegler Parade will be blocked off for quite some time until major collision (unit) attends and process the scene.”

MCIU detectives are expected to interview the ute driver, a 75-year-old man from Warrnambool, some time Wednesday night.

Police are calling for anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage or any other information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000

Meanwhile, police arrested a man after receiving reports of threats towards a teenager in Warrnambool on Wednesday afternoon.

A police spokesman said the 52-year-old Warrnambool man was arrested at an address in Botanic Road without incident about 4pm.

Brauer College was locked down as precaution for a short time which is believed to have been linked to the threat.
