Jacyln Symes new Vic treasurer in cabinet reshuffle
Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan has majorly reshuffled her cabinet following the resignation of Tim Pallas. See all of the changes.
Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan has reshuffled her cabinet, here are the major changes for regional Victorians:
Treasurer Jaclyn Symes will be the first woman to serve in the role, and has also been appointed Minister for Industrial Relations and Regional Development.
Gayle Tierney will add Water to her responsibilities and will continue her work as Minister for Skills and TAFE.
Meanwhile, Vicki Ward will serve as Minister for Emergency Services, as well as the newly created role of Minister for Natural Disaster Recovery, plus the Minister for Equality.
And Sonya Kilkenny will serve as the state’s new Attorney-General and retain her role as Minister for Planning.
In other changes:
Harriet Shing will take on the new super portfolio of Suburban Rail Loop, Housing and Building, Development Victoria and Precincts.
Minister for Consumer Affairs and Local Government will be Nick Staikos.
Minister for Economic Growth and Jobs, in addition to Minister for Finance, Danny Pearson.
Minister for Industry and Advanced Manufacturing, in addition to Creative Industries, Colin Brooks.
Deputy Premier Ben Carroll will add WorkSafe and the TAC to his portfolios, while remaining the Minister for Education.
Anthony Carbines will also continue as Minister for Police, while adding Community Safety and Victims to his responsibilities.
Gabrielle Williams will lead the government’s Big Build, as Minister for Transport Infrastructure and Minister for Public and Active Transport.
Melissa Horne will oversee the government’s rebuild of Victoria’s hospitals as Minister for Health Infrastructure.
Nat Hutchins will add Government Services and the Prevention of Family Violence to her portfolios, while continuing as Minister for Treaty and First Peoples.
Enver Erdogan will add Minister for Casino, Gaming and Liquor Regulation to his responsibilities, while Natalie Suleyman will serve as Minister for Small Business and Employment.
Steve McGhie will remain as Cabinet Secretary.
Tim Richardson will serve as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier, while Kat Theophanous will become the state’s first Parliamentary Secretary for Renters.
Luba Grigorovitch will become the new Parliamentary Secretary for Outdoor Recreation.
