Farmer sees activists in his sheds in footage on Aussie Farms website
A poultry farmer describes the impact “undercover” footage uploaded to the Aussie Farms map has had on his refugee workers, who were completely unaware they were being filmed by tresspasing activists.
POULTRY farmer John Millington didn’t realise his farm had been invaded until footage of his refugee workers ended up on the controversial Aussie Farms website.
Mr Millington, who is a contract grower for Luv-a-Duck and Order of Australia Medal recipient for his decades of service to the Nhill community, said the Aussie Farms map was nothing more than a “hit list”.
“It’s a way of them tracking us,” he said.
“No one else wants to know where my farm is and if they do they’ll go through legitimate ways to find”.
Mr Millington said despite the map being altered to say it was not for the purpose of trespass, “the damage is done”.
“They put it up for that intention,” he said.
“I’m concerned (trespass) may happen again. I’m not concerned because I’m doing something wrong. I’m concerned because of biosecurity and my privacy, and the protection of those Karen refugees that work for me.”

Mr Millington fronted the Victorian parliamentary committee looking into the impact of animal activism last month, where he described the “onerous task” of showing the Aussie Farms footage to his refugee workers who were “deeply and mentally affected”.
“They’ve gone through enough trauma in their life without having to deal with it in Australia”.
