Eighteen of Australia’s most innovative farmers will be recognised at a gala event at RACV Club in Melbourne from 6pm.

The finalists are vying for awards across six categories — cropping, beef, dairy, horticulture, sheep and FARM magazine Innovative Farmer of the Year.

The winner of one of these categories will be crowned The Weekly Times Coles 2017 Farmer of the Year.

Each category winner will receive $5000, with the Farmer of the Year receiving $10,000 cash.
