The health award winners helping keep Territorians out of hospital
Some of the Territory’s most dedicated health workers were celebrated at the 2025 Northern Territory Allied Health Excellence Awards. See who won.
Some of the Territory’s most dedicated health professionals helping to address chronic disease have been recognised this week.
The excellent work of allied health professionals was on full display at the Darwin Botanical Gardens for the third Northern Territory Allied Health Excellence Awards.
Allied health professionals, assistants and technicians from across all five regions in the NT were nominated this year by colleagues, managers and employers.
To be nominated for any of the eight categories, they had to be employed in the Northern Territory at the time.
An exception to this was the Allied Health Honour Roll award in which recently retired health professionals could be put forward.
Minister for Health, Steve Edgington, said the awards helped to recognise and celebrate the “outstanding” work carried out in the Territory by allied health practitioners.
He congratulated all the winners and finalists and thanked them for their hard work.
“The Territory’s Allied health professionals do an amazing job helping keep Territorians out of hospital and reducing the burden of chronic disease,” he said.
“Allied Health is the third largest clinical workforce in the Northern Territory, with specialities spanning from across a wide number of professions from medical imaging and social work to pharmacy and audiology.
“Across towns, regions and remote communities, allied health professionals are on the front line of keeping Territorians well.”
