Motorheads will once again get the chance to see the Australian Supercars roar through the heart of the CBD when the Darwin Triple Crown returns next month.

The popular Track to Town was an Australian first occasion in 2024 when the 25 championship Supercars cruised through the city, and they’ll do so again ahead of racing from June 20-22.

The Supercar convoy will travel from Hidden Valley to the Esplanade from 4pm on June 19, including Tickford Racing wildcard entry and debutant Rylan Gray and the Territory’s own Bryce Fullwood.

Fans can get up close to the cars featuring Indigenous art, meet the drivers at a signing session, and enjoy live entertainment and food trucks at the free activation.

New in 2025 is the Palmerston Driver Parade on June 18, which will see the drivers aboard the Big Bus while prime movers roll through.

Also returning in 2025 is the popular Students on Track program, a Supercars education initiative that offers local students a behind-the-scenes look at one of the Territory’s biggest sporting events.

The Supercars program debuts the Super440 format, delivering a high-octane weekend of racing with two 120km sprint races on the Saturday and a 200km refuelling race on Sunday.

The coveted Triple Crown is set to go off this year, with the round champion crowned based on the most points accumulated across the weekend, not necessarily by winning all three races.

On-track action will see the return of top support categories, including Porsche Carrera Cup, Touring Car Masters, Duggan Family Hotels Combined Sedans, and the Darwin debut of the Trico Trans Am Series.

NT Major Events Company executive director of events Aimee Luxton said they were thrilled to host the Supercars in Darwin for the 27th time.

“We continue to champion its unique identity as the home of the Supercars Indigenous Round,” she said.

“The Darwin Triple Crown represents a premier destination experience for motorsport enthusiasts, attracting a national audience eager to explore the Top End’s diverse offerings.

“With the introduction of dynamic new racing formats, four support categories and a fun program of off-track entertainment, this year’s event is set to deliver an unforgettable Supercars weekend.”

Supercars chief executive Shane Howard said he was eagerly looking forward to Supercars’ Indigenous Round.

“The Darwin Triple Crown is a highlight of the year for all our drivers and teams, and to coincide that with our full field of cars sporting indigenous themed liveries makes it a truly unique event,” he said.
