A country tobacco shop has been destroyed after a second suspicious fire in two days overnight, with a crime scene established.
A tobacco shop at Stanthorpe has been destroyed after a suspicious fire overnight - the second in two days, with a crime scene established.
Emergency services rushed to the store on the corner of Maryland and Folkestone streets at 2.40am on Tuesday.
Six fire crews battled the fire for hours with the fire finally extinguished by 5am. Damage was sustained to adjoining shops.
A crime scene has been declared and investigations are ongoing.
Police are also investigating a second fire that took place at the same tobacco shop early on Australia Day.
That fire self-extinguished before emergency services arrived at the scene.
No-one was injured in either blaze.
Any witness, or people with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage is urged to contact police.
