Five suspects arrested, guns seized after wild fight, shooting at Munno Para in Adelaide’s north
Five people have now been arrested and guns seized for forensic testing after a wild brawl and shooting between two groups at Munno Para last week.
Two more people have been arrested after a shooting at Munno Para last week, with at least three separate guns now being examined by authorities.
It comes after police received calls regarding a disturbance between two groups of men on Stebonheath Rd – with witnesses allegedly hearing a gunshot, about 7.45pm on Monday,July 14.
Police said they have now seized three firearms in total, including one believed to have been used in the shooting incident.
Footage of the fight obtained by The Advertiser shows five to six people shoving and punching for about two minutes on the road before they split into two groups and leave.
Police soon recovered a firearm during a search at a Davoren Park home suspected of being involved in the incident.
Two men from Smithfield Plains – Tyler Jake Haywood, 21, and Andrew Paul McDonald, 44 – appeared via video link in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Both men are yet to enter pleas to joint charges of aggravated affray and aggravated possessing a firearm without a licence and will be back in court later this month.
The third suspect – a 21-year-old man from Smithfield Plains – was arrested on Wednesday and charged with numerous offences including possessing a firearm without a licence, affray and breach of bail.
He was refused bail to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Thursday last week.
The fourth suspect – a 23-year-old man from Munno Para West – was arrested on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the fifth suspect – a 20-year-old man from Andrews Farm was arrested on Monday.
Both men were charged with firearms offences, refused police bail and appeared in court.
Police said the incident was not random and the men were known to each other.
