Police are searching for a driver after a Mercedes crashed into a building and flipped onto its side in an inner eastern suburb early on Sunday morning.

Emergency services were called to Fullarton Rd at Kent Town just after 3.30am after reports the white sedan had hit the wall of a business.

Police say the driver ran from the scene, leaving three passengers in the vehicle who managed to escape with only minor injuries.

When officers arrived and spoke with the passengers, they refused to co-operate, police said.

One passenger, a 27-year-old man from Smithfield, was arrested and charged with refusing to give details and failing to provide the identity of the driver.

He has been bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.

The two other male passengers, both aged 25 and from Blakeview and Mitchell Park, were reported for failing to truly answer.

The pair will be summoned to attend court at a later date.

Police are concerned the driver may have serious injuries and ask anyone who knows of his whereabouts to contact the police assistance line on 131 444.
