New Year weather: The Bureau of Meteorology forecast
It’s just days away, so what will the New Year weather look like across South Australia?
New Year’s Eve will be bringing a sunny outlook and clear skies across most parts of South Australia as we welcome 2025.
The Bureau of Meteorology has given a very promising forecast over the New Year period – with weather being ideal for watching the fireworks outdoors with family and friends.

On New Year’s Eve in Adelaide temperatures are expected to climb to 30C with clear skies and light winds not exceeding 15 to 25 km/h throughout the day.
Meanwhile, South Aussies planning to indulge in some festive daytime activities are encouraged to slop on some sunscreen with the UV index predicted to reach extreme levels.
There is only a five per cent chance of rain.
The following day, on the first day of 2025, there will be a slight temperature drop down to 28C with some cloud developing in the afternoon and winds getting slightly stronger throughout the day.
In the Mount Lofty Ranges town of Nuriootpa, temperatures will be a bit higher.
On New Year’s Eve, Nuriootpa will be mostly sunny with the mercury reaching 34C.
However, their night time temperatures are predicted to fall anywhere between 13C and 16C, before climbing back up to a sunny 30C on New Year’s Day.
Similarly, in the Murraylands area the heat will be high across the two major days.
In Murray Bridge on Tuesday, December 31, temperatures will reach 33C follwed by 28C on Wednesday, January 1.
In, the Lower South East tempratures will be a bit cooler during the festivities.
In Robe, the maximum temperature will be 23C with partial cloud on New Year’s Eve and then on New Year’s Day there will be a further drop to 21C with 10 per cent chance of rain.
